Physical Education

Students at Grace participate in a well-developed physical education program that encourages fitness and a lifelong love of physical activity.

Our youngest students enjoy scooter activities, jump rope, catching and throwing games and simple dances. Soccer, football, floor hockey, basketball, lacrosse, softball, and net games are taught at the appropriate ages.

In the upper grades, student use the skills developed in the earlier years to engage in sports, fitness, and team building activities. The importance of daily exercise and healthy nutrition is emphasized. Physical fitness testing is administered to grades three through six with focus on developing strength and endurance. Both organized and informal sports are available to students as they progress through the grades.

The large and well-maintained playing fields at the Kensington campus provide an ideal location for popular soccer games with other area independent schools. All Grace students in the fifth and sixth grades have the opportunity to be members of the Grace soccer, cross -country, basketball, softball and track teams.
