Technology

Technology at Grace is integrated into the curriculum as a natural tool of productivity.

Computer skills are typically taught within the framework of a classroom project or exercise to make learning more meaningful the use of technology more natural. As students progress through the grades, they are exposed to increasingly more complex applications.

Computers are located in each classroom from kindergarten through fifth grade. Laptop computers are dedicated for sixth grade use. At the Kensington campus, a computer lab with 18 fully networked computers and Internet access provides our largest classes with a computer for each student. The students also have access to a scanner, digital camera, color printers, and a library of educational software.

Starting in third grade, students begin weekly computer classes during which they enhance their basic computer skills and learn to make presentations in print and multimedia. Throughout the week, classroom and special subject teachers can schedule use of the lab for their classes.

Grace strives to make students capable and confident users of technology appropriate to their grade level, to respect the rights of others and to develop an understanding of the resources available in the constantly changing information age.
