Faculty, Administration, and Government
Faculty
Grace maintains a highly qualified faculty, versed in various teaching styles and dedicated to the all-around development of each student. Approximately half of Grace's faculty have a Master's degree or higher, and more than 75 percent have advanced coursework in education. All faculty are involved in ongoing professional development.
One of the ongoing goals is to increase diversity within the faculty and staff so that it matches our own students' diversity. Currently, our staff is 20% culturally/ethnically diverse and a ratio of 1:5 male/female.
Administration
On July 1, 2000, Mrs. Carol Franek assumed her new role as Grace's third Head of School. Mrs. Franek's appointment was the result of a nationwide search conducted by the Board of Governors during the 1999-2000 academic year during which she served as Acting Head of School.
Governance
Grace Episcopal Day School is an outreach ministry of Grace Episcopal Church (http://www.graceepiscopalchurch.org/index.html). As an independent school, however, Grace has its own Board of Governors and oversees its own finances. Like faculty and administrators, Board members participate in ongoing professional development.
