Getting Involved
Service Activities
Admissions/Parent Ambassadors - Be an ambassador for Grace! Volunteers are needed at school open houses to greet prospective parents and show them around the school. This year's open houses will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon (. In addition, we welcome your presence at the following fairs: Black Student Fund, Latino Fair (Spanish speaking volunteers are needed), and Episcopal school fairs. Contact Michelle Siraj, Director of Admission at 301-585-3513, ext. 18.
Backpack Bulletin - Our all-school weekly information sheet is produced by the school as a service to the administration, faculty, and staff to help keep families informed of school wide news and deadlines. Volunteers help by copying, collating, and distributing the Backpack Bulletin every Thursday from 9-10 a.m.
Board of Governors - The Grace Episcopal Day School Board of Governors has several committees that are open to non-board members. These include: development committee, school life committee, finance committee, and building and grounds/facilities committee. If you are interested in serving on one of these committees, please contact Ken Brown through the Board of Governors's mailbox located at the Kensington campus.

Communications/Public Relations - Help promote Grace in our area through media exposure and events. Helping to organize and distribute our photographs throughout the year is also welcomed.
Hospitality - PTO volunteers help faculty, staff, and administration coordinate activities and provide refreshments for school events, including Back-to-School night, open houses, and Grandparents/Special Friends' Day.
Landscape Committee - Volunteers are needed to weed, plant, and mulch at campus "spruce-up" days in the fall and spring.
New Families Program - Get to know new families while you help them settle into the school community. "Hosts" are needed to contact new families during the summer to welcome them and offer friendly guidance.
Pizza Lunch - The PTO arranges for pizza lunch once a week at Kensington and Silver Spring. Volunteers are needed for serving pizza at both campuses.
